World Services for the Blind Foundation presents the 2020 Vision Award Honoring Ed Choate, CEO & President of Delta Dental of Arkansas
The Vision Award was founded to honor an individual who has demonstrated far-reaching vision to successfully orchestrate events through business enterprise and community involvement to help better our society for all citizens, both with and without sight. This year, the World Services for the Blind Foundation will honor Ed Choate, CEO & President of Delta Dental of Arkansas.
During Ed Choate’s 20-year tenure as president and CEO of Delta Dental of Arkansas, he has built a reputation as one of the state’s most influential and active champions for a healthier Arkansas.
Under his leadership, the company has built the largest network of oral health providers in the state. Behind the strength of its local relationships and world-class customer service, Delta Dental of Arkansas has scaled its expertise to serve 2.4 million members with an annual revenue of more than $550M. And, two years ago, Delta Dental of Arkansas played a significant role in bringing stability to the Arkansas Medicaid dental program when the state transitioned to managed care for the first time in its history. Delta Dental of Arkansas was selected as one of two insurance companies to manage dental benefits for more than 300,000 Medicaid beneficiaries in Arkansas.
Ed’s commitment to the well-being of all Arkansans — and willingness to roll up his sleeves alongside the 225 employees of Delta Dental of Arkansas — extends well beyond the organization’s day-to-day business. On his watch, Delta Dental of Arkansas established its Foundation to serve as a charitable and educational resource for its communities. In addition to communicating the significance of oral health among infants and toddlers, the Foundation has gone above and beyond in funding fluoridation infrastructure in municipalities across the state, and collaborated with the Arkansas Mission of Mercy to bring free dental care services to those in need.
Today, Delta Dental of Arkansas serves as a beacon of trust. By rallying around Ed’s mission-based philosophy of creating a healthier Arkansas one smile at a time, the company’s internal culture has earned it the title of Best Places To Work in Arkansas for seven consecutive years… and counting.
Ed strives to make sure Delta Dental of Arkansas is more than a business. It’s an organization with a purpose, and with his passion for fostering and encouraging good oral health for all Arkansans, Delta Dental of Arkansas is lifting others up and moving an entire state forward.
